Phil O'Banion: The Love of God
1 John 4: 7 β 10
[7] "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. [8] Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. [9] In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. [10] In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
If we don't try to comprehend the love of God β we won't understand who HE IS.
Romans 8: 35 β 39
[35] "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? [36] As it is written,
'For your sake we are being killed all day long; We are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.'
(Lord, we feel like you're just using us hereβ¦we are just your pawns)
[37] NO (emphasis mine, BUT), in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, [39] nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If we don't acknowledge His Love, we cannot be more than 'conquerors.'
The more you know JESUS CHRIST β the more you KNOW this love. And even if you can't always 'feel' it, you can rest assured it's there.
